In February 2017, we held a Variety Show fundraiser at the International Centre in Mississauga to celebrate our 10th anniversary. It was an evening full of entertainment, including host Sean Cullen, a Marilyn Monroe impersonator, and much more. Thanks to the generosity of the community, we were able to donate a 2017 Dodge Caravan to Corporal Shawn Mulcahy, a veteran who served in Afghanistan.
In 2016, representatives of The Cowan Foundation, Schlegel Health Care Incorporated, the Military Casualty Support Foundation and Homewood Research Institute identified a shared priority for research on interventions that could improve transitions from military to civilian employment. A partnership between the four organizations was established to fund a study proposed by Homewood. Learn More.
The Military Casualty Support Foundation has donated a portion of its proceeds through various events and charities such as the annual golf tournament at Crosswinds Golf & Country Club in Burlington, Ontario. Corporal Chris Klodt, is one of the Foundation’s recipients. Click HERE to hear Chris’s story.
The MCSF is proud to have sponsored the True Patriot Love Training Camp in Canmore Alberta where they prepared to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. True Patriot Love is a national foundation that supports and honours members of the Canadian military and their families. For many members of the Canadian Forces, the profound effects of physical injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder are just beginning to surface. That’s why, this year, the True Patriot Love Foundation has committed to providing $1 million for mental health programs, and $500,000 for physical rehabilitation of injured veterans. The MCSF is proud to have supported the Expedition, aiding in providing access to care for these ill and injured soldiers and their families, and also helping to raise awareness for this cause.
